Get Involved: One Day Events

Introducing: Branching Out Dubuque

The City of Dubuque was awarded a US Forest Service grant for $1.5 million dollars and will be planting thousands of trees throughout the community over the next 5 years. We are a partner in this initiative and our role is to provide volunteers for the individual planting projects.

Many volunteer opportunities will be available. If you would like to be involved, sign up here. We will add you to our contact list and keep you updated with details as projects are developed.

Date: April 26, 2025 COMPLETED

Neighborhood Orchard Fruit Tree Care Team

Location:
Neighborhood Orchard (Corner of Hill and Caledonia Streets)

Our trees are planted. Now we need help with weekly weeding of our tree planting bed and keeping the site clean from spring through first frost.

We need teams to serve a couple hours each week at a time convenient for your group. If you want to sign up as an individual, we can match you with a team. It will be helpful to have at least 4 people per team.

Sign up here and we will get you on the schedule. You will pick a week then come for a couple hours that week at a time convenient for you. These efforts will keep our orchard looking its best.

Get Involved: Long-Term Opportunities!

Dubuque Trees Forever needs a wide variety of volunteers to make our projects a success.

Help us us educate our community, advocate for funding, track and measure our progress, and secure grants and donations to support tree planting.

If you’re interested in a longer-term volunteer commitment with our organization, check out our opportunities below and contact us!

  • Trailer Team

We are looking for 3 to 4 people with a pick up truck that can help haul our trailer to our project sites. We want to have several so we can rotate through the year.

  • Tree Care Team: Water and Mulching

We are developing several small teams that will help water and our newly planted trees and mulch in needed areas. The more teams we have, the fewer times each team is needed. We would provide equipment. This is a great team-building opportunity for your workplace.

  • Board Members

Each fall we look for new board members to help guide the work we do. We are looking for people with enthusiasm for actively making a difference in our community to leave a green and beautiful legacy for Dubuque. Board terms are two years. Are you interested in participating? Contact us for an application or more information. Deadline is November 15.
